Multiferroics
Multiferroics are materials that display both ferromagnetic and ferroelectric properties. This unique combination of properties can be used to create novel memory, logic and switching devices which have the potential to revolutionize the electronics industry by providing low power, low cost and high-density memory. These materials can also be used to develop sensors with improved sensitivity, magneto-optical properties and magneto-electric couplings. Finally, multiferroics offer potential for developing highly efficient power generation and conversion systems.
