Materials Science

Materials Science is the study of the structure, properties and behavior of materials. It is an interdisciplinary field that draws on elements of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Engineering. Its aim is to develop new materials that can be used in the production of goods and services. Materials Science is an important branch of science that has applications in many industries, from aerospace engineering to medical technology to construction. It is used to create and improve products, from lightweight aircraft structures to fuel-efficient engines to life-saving medical implants and devices. By understanding the relationship between structure and properties of materials, researchers are able to create and tailor materials to achieve specific desired properties for a given application.
