Material Science

Material Science is the study of the properties and behaviors of materials that make up the natural and man-made world. It is a multidisciplinary science which combines physics, chemistry, engineering, and mathematics to gain a greater understanding of the structural and functional aspects of materials. Material Science plays an important role in a wide variety of industries, ranging from automotive to medical and aerospace. It is used to develop new materials with specific properties and enhance existing materials to improve their properties and performance. Additionally, it investigates the effects of environment, temperature and pressure on materials, and is useful in improving the safety, quality and efficiency of products and processes.
