Liposomes

Liposomes are microscopic spherical vesicles composed of a double layer of lipid molecules. They are widely used in medical, cosmetic and biotechnological applications due to their ability to encapsulate and transport both water-soluble and oil-soluble compounds. Liposomes can also protect and release drugs, chemicals, proteins and other molecules within living organisms or other systems, making them useful for drug delivery, gene therapy and other treatments. Additionally, liposomes have potential uses in bio-imaging and in food and other consumer products, making them an increasingly important part of biotechnology research and development.
