Biomaterials
Biomaterials are materials that are used in medical and healthcare applications. These materials include metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites, and are designed to interact with and support the body. Biomaterials can be used in a variety of applications, including implants, prosthetics, stents, and drug delivery systems. They are designed to be biocompatible, meaning they do not cause harm to the body and will not be rejected by the immune system. Additionally, their chemical and physical properties are tailored so they will be accepted by the body and interact with it in a desired manner. This makes biomaterials an important and versatile tool for improving the quality of life of patients.
