Non Hodgkin's Disease

Non-Hodgkin's disease (NHD) is a term used to describe a group of cancers that can affect the lymphatic system, a part of the body's immune system. It is more general than lymphoma, which is a type of NHD. NHD is a serious and life-threatening condition and can affect anyone, but is most common in the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. Symptoms of NHD include swollen lymph nodes, fever, weight loss, tiredness and night sweats. Treatment of NHD includes radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, stem cell transplant and surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment can improve the outcome of NHD.
