Multifocal-leukoencephalopathy

Multifocal leukoencephalopathy is a rare disorder characterized by symmetrical white matter lesions in the brain. It is caused by immune-mediated inflammation and typically affects the aging population. This condition can cause a variety of neurological symptoms, such as seizures, cognitive and language deficits, movement disorders, and behavioral disturbances. Treatment usually involves immunosuppressive therapy and supportive care. With early diagnosis, patients can be managed well and have a good prognosis. Research is still ongoing to explore further potential treatment options.
