Leukocytosis

Leukocytosis is a condition in which an abnormally high number of white blood cells is present in the blood. It is an important indicator of infection or other underlying medical conditions, as an increase in white blood cells signals a response by the body's immune system to attack the source of an infection. Leukocytosis is easily detectable through a blood test and can help physicians diagnose a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions, from bacterial infections to autoimmune diseases.
