Immunobiology
Immunobiology is the branch of science that studies the body's immune system and its role in defending the body against disease. It is an interdisciplinary field involving immunology, cell biology, genetics, microbiology and pathology. The branch of immunobiology focuses on how the body's immune system operates, how it responds to foreign invaders, and how its responses can be manipulated to prevent and treat diseases. Immunobiology is important because it helps us understand how the body adapts to disease and helps us develop effective treatments and immunizations that can help protect against diseases in the future. It is used for the development of vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics for many infectious, autoimmune and allergic diseases.
