Adult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a cancer of the white blood cells that develops from immature lymphocytes, resulting in an abnormal accumulation of these cells in the bone marrow and other tissues. It is a rare cancer that is typically diagnosed in adults over 40 and is one of the most common forms of leukemia in children. Treatment options depend on the stage of the disease and the individual's medical condition, but may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and stem cell transplantation. Adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia is a serious illness, but with early diagnosis and treatment, outcomes can be improved dramatically.
