Acute Myelogenous Leukemia
Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. It is a form of myeloid neoplasm, which results from the rapid, uncontrolled growth of abnormal white blood cells. This can cause a decrease in the production of healthy red blood cells and platelets, leading to anemia, fatigue, and an increased risk of bleeding. If left untreated, AML can be life-threatening. There are a number of treatments available for AML, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and stem cell transplantation. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are important for improving outcomes.
