Immunology is the scientific study of the immune system, which has the primary purpose of protecting the human body against diseases and other foreign bodies. The immune system includes organs, cells, and biochemical processes that work together to keep the body healthy. Immunology has become increasingly important in modern medicine, as it can help to diagnose and treat many diseases. For example, it can be used to detect the presence of cancer, as well as diagnose autoimmune diseases. Immunology is also used to develop treatments such as vaccines, which are important for preventing contagious diseases. Additionally, immunology can help to develop therapies for diseases that have no known cure.
