Subacromial Bursitis

Subacromial bursitis is a condition affecting the shoulder joint. It occurs when the bursa, a fluid-filled sac that reduces friction between the rotator cuff tendons and the shoulder blade, becomes inflamed. Symptoms of subacromial bursitis include pain, swelling, and a decreased range of motion. Treatment typically involves rest, anti-inflammatory medication, physical therapy, and, in severe cases, surgery. Subacromial bursitis is a common shoulder complaint, and is important to identify and treat early in order to maximize shoulder function and reduce the risk of further shoulder injury.
