Sports Medicine
Sports medicine is the branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness and the prevention and treatment of injuries related to sports and exercise. It is concerned with helping individuals achieve their maximum potential in fitness-related activities and helping them to reach their goals safely and effectively. Sports medicine incorporates a wide range of specialized techniques and treatments tailored to the unique needs of athletes, including diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal injuries, physical therapy and rehabilitation, nutrition, exercise testing and prescription, and pharmacology. It is also involved in the prevention and treatment of sports-related injuries and illnesses. In addition, sports medicine is an important part of managing the overall health and wellness of athletes.
