Pediatric Rheumatology
Pediatric Rheumatology is a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of childhood musculoskeletal and autoimmune disorders. These disorders can involve the joints, muscles, and soft tissues and can impair the ability to move, affect physical and emotional wellbeing, and accelerate aging. Pediatric Rheumatologists provide diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of these disorders, and consult with other team members such as orthopedists, physical therapists, and psychologists. Proper diagnosis and treatment of childhood rheumatology disorders can improve patients’ quality of life and prevent potential long-term complications.
