Neuromuscular Fatigue
Neuromuscular fatigue is the process of fatigue occurring in muscles due to prolonged or intense activity of a particular muscle. It is a common phenomenon and can be caused by either the mechanical strain on a muscle or the accumulation of metabolic by-products such as lactic acid. Neuromuscular fatigue has significant implications for athletic performance and other everyday activities, as it is the major factor limiting muscle power, strength, and endurance. It is important to recognize and manage neuromuscular fatigue in order to minimize the risk of injury and optimize performance. There are various methods to reduce or manage neuromuscular fatigue, ranging from rest, supportive nutrition, techniques to reduce lactic acid build up and physical techniques, such as stretching and massage.
