Metabolic Bones Disorders
Metabolic bone disorders are a group of conditions that involve the decrease in bone health and density, resulting in fragile bones and an increased risk of fracture. It can be caused by deficiencies or excesses of certain nutrients, hormones, or other biochemical abnormalities. Common disorders include osteoporosis, Paget's disease of the bone, and osteomalacia. Metabolic bone disorders are associated with an increased risk of fracture, pain, and physical disability. Treatment usually involves correcting the underlying hormonal, biochemical, or nutritional abnormality, along with lifestyle modifications, physical therapy, and medications to improve bone health and strength.
