Bone Marrow Cells
Bone marrow cells, also known as hematopoietic stem cells, are cells that are found in the bone marrow and are responsible for making other types of cells in the body. These cells have the ability to become any type of cell in the body, such as red blood cells, white blood cells and platelet cells. Bone marrow cells are also used in medical treatments such as stem cell transplants and regenerative medicine, making them extremely important in disease and injury treatments. Bone marrow cells can be harvested from donors or harvested from the patient’s own body and are used to repair damaged tissue or to treat diseases such as cancer or blood disorders. The therapeutic properties of bone marrow cells make them a very important tool in modern medical care and research.
