Antirheumatic Agents
Antirheumatic agents are drugs used to treat symptoms of rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other autoimmune and inflammatory joint disorders. They work by reducing inflammation, suppressing the immune system and reducing pain. Some antirheumatic agents can also slow the progression of joint damage, allowing patients to retain function and lead a more normal life. These drugs are essential for reducing pain and preserving quality of life for those suffering from rheumatic diseases.
