Amputation
Amputation is the surgical removal of a limb, or part of a limb, for medical or physical reasons. Amputations are performed as a life-saving procedure in cases where medical conditions have caused a limb to become irreversibly damaged, such as due to infection, cancer, trauma, or caused by a debilitating medical condition. Additionally, amputations may be performed for cosmetic or psychological reasons. Amputations are critical in treating serious medical conditions, allowing people to continue living healthy lives with the assurance that their symptoms have been addressed.
