Palynology
Palynology is the scientific study of pollen and other microscopic plant particles. It is an important branch of biology, ecology, and archaeology. Palynology helps to understand the composition and diversity of past and present ecosystems, as well as the migration, dispersal and reproduction of plants. It is also used to track past climate changes and the spread of diseases. Palynology has contributed to important discoveries, including understanding the Earth’s biodiversity over time, and can be used to identify ancient plant materials, like proteins and pigments. Palynology can also be used to track down sources of organic material for forensic investigations and to track pollen found in honey.
