Oogonia

Oogonia are female reproductive cells which are found in the ovaries of humans and other female animals. They are the starting point for the process of oogenesis, which is the production of eggs for fertilization. Oogonia are formed during embryonic development and by the time a female is born, she has a finite number of them in her ovaries. During her reproductive years, these oogonia will progress from being dormant to an active state to form eggs. Oogonia are a crucial part of the reproductive cycle and are vital for the production of offspring.
