Medical Plants
Medical plants are plants, or parts of plants, that have traditionally been used for medicinal purposes. They may contain active compounds, like alkaloids and steroids, that have beneficial effects on the human body. Medical plants have been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments, and are still widely employed in alternative and traditional medicine today. They are popular due to their relative safety, as they do not typically have the same side effects as pharmaceutical drugs. Many medical plants are rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents and other compounds that can help to protect against disease and promote overall health. Medical plants are even being studied for their potential to be used in the development of new treatments for a variety of diseases.
