Fossils
Fossils are the remains of once-living organisms that have been preserved in rock. They can provide important evidence about the history of life on Earth, including the evolution of ancient species and the effects of climate change. Fossils also provide clues about the environment in which they were found, such as the type of sediment or rock in which they were deposited. As such, fossils are valuable scientific resources, offering insights into the environmental conditions, evolutionary history, and extinction events that shaped life on Earth. In addition, fossils are used in the fields of paleontology and geology to reconstruct ancient landscapes, help study changes in the Earth’s climate, and understand the processes that shape the planet.
