Ecophysiology

Ecophysiology is a scientific field that studies the interactions between an organism and its environment, with an emphasis on how they are regulated physiologically. Through research, ecophysiologists can understand the links between an organism’s physiology and its environment, and uncover the adaptive strategies organisms use to survive and thrive. Because of their focus on understanding how organisms respond to their environment, ecophysiology is an important field for enhancing our understanding of organisms' ability to cope with environmental changes and shape ecosystems. Ecophysiology is also crucial for developing sustainable management strategies for natural and agricultural resources, such as supporting food production, conservation, and aquaculture.
