Conservation Biology
Conservation biology is the scientific study of the conservation of biodiversity, or the protection of species, ecosystems, and natural resources. It applies knowledge and principles from biology, economics, ecology, law, and other related sciences to protect species, habitats, and prevent extinction, promote biodiversity, and manage resources. Conservation biologists use a variety of tools and practices to maintain healthy, sustainable ecosystems and protect species of plants, animals, and other organisms, such as population and habitat management, reintroduction of endangered species, and restoration of degraded habitats. Conservation biology is important to protect our natural resources and promote the long-term health of our planet's unique biodiversity.
