Conifers

Conifers are a group of cone-bearing trees that are widely distributed across the Northern Hemisphere. They are an important part of the world’s forests, providing ecosystem services such as carbon sequestration, soil stabilization, and habitat for a wide range of animals. Conifers are also used in forestry and timber production, providing a renewable source of wood for housing and other construction projects. The wood of some conifers, such as pine, is also used for the production of plywood, paper products, and firewood. They are a key part of the global ecosystem and are essential for many people’s livelihoods.
