Aquatic Botany

Aquatic botany is the branch of botany that deals with the study and utilization of aquatic plants. It covers all aspects of the plant life cycle, such as seed germination, growth, flowering, and death, as well as the underwater environment in which they grow. Aquatic botany is important for the conservation and restoration of aquatic ecosystems, and for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. Additionally, the study of aquatic plants has practical applications in the areas of water purification, conservation of wetlands, and fish and wildlife habitat. Aquatic botany also contributes to medical research and the development of crop plants that can tolerate aquatic ecosystems.
