Agronomy
Agronomy is the science of crop production and management. It involves the application of land and plant sciences to grow, maintain and maximize crop yields. Agronomy also encompasses the selection and breeding of plants to ensure the sale of quality food, fiber and fuel products. Agronomy focuses on improving soil fertility, increasing water efficiency, managing pests and weeds, and understanding the interactions between soil, water, nutrients and the environment. By mastering agronomy, farmers are able to make better use of resources and benefit from greater productivity while minimizing environmental impact.
