Toxicology

Toxicology is the study of how chemical substances and physical agents affect living organisms and their environment. It is a branch of science concerned with the study of the adverse effects of chemicals and physical agents on living organisms. Toxicologists seek to identify the potential adverse effects of these agents on health and the environment, and also to understand how they interact with the body's biochemical and physiological processes. Toxicology is of key importance in public health, environmental protection and safety, as well as for the development of safe and effective drugs, industrial chemicals, and consumer products.
