Legal Nurse Consulting

Legal nurse consulting is a type of expert consulting practice in which nurses with a legal and medical background provide specialized consultation services related to healthcare-related legal issues. This type of consulting is typically utilized by lawyers, insurance companies, and other legal and medical entities in order to gain insight into the medical diagnosis and treatment of a particular case. Legal nurse consultants can utilize their clinical skills and education, as well as their legal expertise, to interpret medical records and provide analysis of cases. This includes the review of medical records and interpretation of standards of care, identification of potential medical errors, and preparation of medical chronologies. Additionally, legal nurse consultants can be called upon to develop a medical expert witness, conduct research, and provide education on medical-legal topics.
