Forensic Epidemiology

Forensic Epidemiology is the science of using epidemiological methods and principles to investigate legal matters, such as criminal and civil cases, medical malpractice and public health crises. It is a discipline that combines the study of legal, medical, scientific and public health information to answer questions relevant to the legal system. It involves the systematic investigation of patterns and causes of diseases and injuries in the population, so it can inform and provide evidence for legal proceedings. Forensic Epidemiology is a valuable tool for determining the causality of health outcomes and can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of public health policies, as well as to uncover potential medical malpractice cases.
