Forensic Arts

Forensic art is an integral part of forensic science which uses a variety of techniques such as composite artwork, facial reconstruction, age progression, computer animation, and sculpture to help identify unknown subjects, capture criminals, and investigate crime scenes. Forensic artists are able to reconstruct images of unknown persons or objects from limited or incomplete information, allowing for a closer analysis of the evidence and better understanding of the crime. Forensic artists are also able to create representations of persons of interest or suspects to aid in the identification of suspects or witnesses. By synthesizing the available evidence, forensic artists can offer investigative leads and help provide closure for families of missing persons.
