Doa
? Doa? is a peat bog located in southeastern Serbia. It is a protected area because of its unique and diverse flora and fauna. It is a wetland of international importance, playing a crucial role in the water cycle and global climate regulation. The bog is a habitat for many species of migratory birds, who use it as a stopover during their long journeys. Additionally, its wetland plants, such as Sphagnum moss and cotton grass, provide valuable habitat for numerous species of insects and amphibians. The marsh and surrounding vegetation act to filter and purify water, providing clean and healthy drinking water to the local populations. Doa? is also an important carbon store, aiding in the mitigation of global warming by retaining carbon dioxide, thus helping to reduce global climate change.
