Plant Pathology
Plant pathology is an interdisciplinary branch of biology focused on detecting, diagnosing and managing diseases in plants. It combines elements of microbiology, genetics, biochemistry and physiology to study the pathogens causing diseases, as well as ways to prevent and control them. Plant pathology is important for both food security and environmental sustainability, as it helps to reduce crop losses, improve plant productivity and stop the spread of diseases that can affect natural ecosystems. Furthermore, it serves as an important tool for integrated pest management, which helps to reduce the use of harmful pesticides and fertilizers.
