Plant Cells
Plant cells are the basic building blocks of all plants. They are the smallest units of a plant that can perform all necessary functions for the plant to survive. Plant cells contain a nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes, and more that allow them to take in energy from the environment, break down nutrients, and reproduce. Plant cells are essential for photosynthesis—a process that turns sunlight into sugar, which the cells use for growth and development. Plant cells also contain cell walls and chloroplasts, which help the plant absorb water and sunlight, allowing it to survive. Plant cells are essential for the growth, health, and vitality of plants, and are of crucial importance for the sustainability of our planet.
