Neurotology is a branch of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the ear, as well as disorders of the balance and facial nerves. Diseases such as hearing loss, dizziness, tinnitus, facial nerve paralysis, and acoustic neuromas are common conditions that neurotologists diagnose and treat. Neurotologists are trained in the medical and surgical care of these conditions, as well as preventative care. The field of neurotology combines elements of otolaryngology, neurology, and audiology, providing a unique and diverse approach to providing care for these conditions. Neurotology is an important field that helps to improve the quality of life for those with hearing, balance and facial nerve disorders.
