Microtubules

Microtubules are cylindrical proteins that form the backbone of cells and are critically important for cellular physiology. They are involved in numerous cellular functions, including cell division, cell polarity and motion, intracellular transport, and structural integrity. Microtubules also form the basis of the extracellular cytoskeleton, which is essential for cell-to-cell communication and cell motility. Microtubules are commonly used in research to study the structure and function of cells, the interaction between cells, and the effects of drugs and other compounds on the cell.
