Micronuclei

Micronuclei are small, rod-shaped organelles found inside the cell nucleus. They are important in cell division as they are involved in the transportation and segregation of chromosomes during mitosis. They are also used as markers for genetic damage. In humans, an increased presence of micronuclei has been associated with environmental and lifestyle factors, including exposure to radiation and toxins, as well as certain diseases. Therefore, micronuclei analysis can be used as an indicator of genetic damage, and as a tool for understanding the impact of lifestyle and environmental factors on human health.
