Liquid-based Cytology

Liquid-based cytology (LBC) is an important diagnostic technique used in the analysis of cell samples. It involves the processing of cells from different parts of the body in liquid form, such as from a urine or blood sample. This method has revolutionized the diagnostics of cancer, as it is more precise than the conventional Pap smear. LBC provides a highly detailed picture of cells, enabling more accurate detection and diagnosis of pre-cancerous or cancerous cells. It has been used to detect cervical cancer, but is also useful in the diagnosis of cancer of the breast, lungs, bladder and other organs. It is also a cost-effective way to screen for health conditions, making it a valuable tool in preventive medicine.
