Immuno Cytochemistry
Immunocytochemistry is a laboratory technique used to visualize proteins and other molecules inside a cell. It combines the principles of antibody-antigen recognition with the use of light-sensitive dyes, or fluorophores, to produce a labeled image of a cell. Key applications include the identification of cancer cells, the study of cell structure or organelles, and the visualization of gene expression. Its usefulness lies in the ability to identify antigen-specific patterns of molecular distribution which can indicate the presence of disease or abnormalities. Immunocytochemistry is a valuable tool for medical diagnostics, research, and the drug discovery process.
