Hematopathology
Hematopathology is the branch of pathology that studies diseases of the blood and immune system, such as leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders. It is an important tool in diagnosing and treating patients with these types of diseases. It involves examining blood samples under a microscope, identifying abnormal cells, and determining the type and stage of the disease. The results of these tests can help doctors plan the best course of treatment. Hematopathology also plays an important role in guiding clinical decisions, by providing information to help determine appropriate therapies such as chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy.
