Endometrial Cytology

Endometrial cytology is the examination of cells from the endometrium, the innermost layer of the uterus. It is used to diagnose and monitor certain types of cancers, abnormal uterine bleeding and other health issues affecting the uterus. Endometrial cytology can be used to obtain a tissue sample for further laboratory analysis or for visual examination of the endometrial cells. This can provide valuable diagnostic information and help to determine the cause and severity of any uterine disorder. It can also be used to monitor changes in the uterus over time, helping to assess the effectiveness of a particular treatment. Endometrial cytology is a relatively simple and safe procedure with few risks, making it a useful tool for diagnosing and monitoring uterine conditions.
