Nocturnal Enuresis
Nocturnal enuresis, also known as bedwetting, is the involuntary release of urine during sleep. It's normal for children under the age of five to experience nocturnal enuresis, and it usually resolves within that age. However, it is considered a medical condition if it occurs in children over the age of five and persists. This condition can cause considerable distress and embarrassment to the sufferer, impacting their quality of life. Treatment options vary and may include lifestyle changes, medication, and/or bedwetting alarms. With appropriate treatment and care, nocturnal enuresis can be successfully managed and outcomes are typically positive.
