Conduct Disorder
Conduct disorder is a mental health disorder characterized by a pattern of persistent and pervasive behavior that violates the personal and social rights of others. It often begins during childhood or early adolescence and may include aggression towards people or animals, destruction of property, deceitfulness or theft, and serious violations of rules. Treatment typically involves a combination of psychotherapy, medication, and family therapy in order to help individuals learn to manage their behavior and reduce their symptoms. Conduct disorder has been linked to poor academic performance, poor peer relationships, later criminal behavior, and even suicide. Taking steps to provide support and intervention early can help prevent the development of serious long term problems.
