Attention Deficit and Disruptive Behavior Disorders
Attention Deficit and Disruptive Behavior Disorders (ADD/DBD) are mental health conditions that affect children and adults, characterized by difficulty focusing, impulsivity and/or hyperactivity, and/or disruptive behavior. These issues can significantly impair a person’s ability to function in day-to-day life, affecting their success at school, work, and relationships with others. Treatment for these issues usually involves psychological therapy, medications, and lifestyle changes. Early diagnosis and treatment is key to achieving improved outcomes. Research has shown that individuals with ADD/DBD have an increased risk of developing other mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, and substance abuse. ADD/DBD can have a major impact on a person's quality of life, but with appropriate and timely treatment, individuals can manage their condition and lead successful and fulfilling lives.
