Adhd Social Skills
ADHD social skills are behaviours related to interacting with others, such as communication, cooperation, and following social norms. This skill set is particularly important for children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as these impairments can make it difficult to interact with their peers and understand a variety of social scenarios. Moreover, deficits in social skills can hinder academic, career and personal success over the long-term. Therefore, a comprehensive treatment plan for people with ADHD should address social skill deficits through specialised interventions such as social skills training and cognitive behavioural therapy. Such therapies aim to increase the individual's awareness of ADHD's effects on their social interactions and develop coping strategies, leading to improved social functioning in school and other settings.
