Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a severe and chronic mental disorder that affects a person's thoughts, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing. Symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, difficulty expressing emotions, difficulty concentrating, disorganized thinking, and poor social functioning. Schizophrenia has a wide range of causes, including genetic, environmental, and psychological factors. It is an important public health issue, as it affects approximately 1% of the population worldwide. Treatment options such as antipsychotic medications, psychotherapy, and lifestyle modifications can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. Early intervention and support can help those with schizophrenia to manage their condition and live meaningful lives.
