Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a disease that affects bones, making them weak and fragile. It is a major health concern, affecting millions of people globally, especially women. Osteoporosis leads to an increased risk of fractures, particularly in the spine, hip, and wrist. The main cause of osteoporosis is inadequate calcium and vitamin D intake over a long period of time. Treatment typically involves lifestyle changes, such as increasing calcium and vitamin D intake, regular exercise, and quitting smoking, as well as medications to slow down bone loss and increase bone density. To prevent osteoporosis, it is important to have a healthy diet and lifestyle, as well as adequate levels of calcium and vitamin D.
