Hospital-addiction Syndrome
Hospital-addiction Syndrome (HAS) is a condition affecting individuals who spend significant time in a hospital setting, often as a result of addiction-related conditions. It is characterized by a decrease in the quality of patient care, a feeling of alienation, diminished self-image and an increase in physical and psychological dependence on medical staff and the hospital environment. Symptoms of HAS can include increased anxiety, depression, and physical exhaustion, as well as impaired cognitive functioning and an inability to establish meaningful relationships with others. HAS can lead to decreased physical and mental health, and may ultimately lead to further addiction-related problems. Treatment and prevention of HAS involves addressing the underlying issues of addiction, improving communication and support systems in the hospital setting, and offering the necessary psychological and pharmacological treatments to manage the symptoms of the condition.
